China Life Insurance looking for buying opportunities outside of China

According to media reports, China Life Insurance is considering M&A activities outside of China. The company wishes to make use of the global financial crisis in order to make strategic positioning outside of China.

China Life Insurance chief investment officer 刘乐飞 says that the financial crisis is not over yet but China Life Insurance thinks that the time to start investments outside of China is coming soon.

He says that China Life Insurance is looking out for M&A opportunities but at the same time cautious. He also says that China Life Insurance has been doing a great amount of research and the opportunities are getting apparent.

China Life Insurance targets could be medium to small scale financial enterprises. They could be in US, Asia, Europe or anywhere. Large scale financial enterprises in financial troubles may start to sell their core assets. 刘乐飞 thinks that in the coming few months, there will be more M&A activities.

China Life Insurance balance sheet shows a cash reserve of 30.5 billion yuan dated end of September.
