IMF managing director: IMF still needs 100 billion USD to help countries in need

IMF managing director Dominique Strauss-Kahn says on Monday that IMF in the coming 6 months needs at least 100 billion USD in order to help the global economy in dire straits.

According to reports, Kahn says that countries in financial difficulties asking IMF for help are on the rise. Thus, the IMF needs more funding.

According to reports from BBC, although the IMF recently has enough funds (350 billion USD) to use for helping out, but from a longer time frame of view it needs more funding.

Kahn also calls out to countries to lower interest rates in order to alleviate the economic crisis.
